1. What Are You Trying to Improve?
The three limits are not interchangeable. Pick the one that is actually blocking you:
- Income Is Too Low: Treadmill levels do not raise $/s. A hybrid recorded at Lv. 1 and again at Lv. 506 showed the same 10★ and the same $429/s both times. For money, fuse a higher-star pair.
- Losing Fights in The Wild: This is a combat-level problem, not an income problem. Train the hybrid you take into The Wild on the treadmill.
- A New Hybrid Will Not Fit: Your pen is full. Hybirds and unhatched eggs share the same slot count.
2. The Pen Upgrade Ladder (Read From the Sign)
Each pen sign shows the current level, the slot count, and the price of the next level. Recorded values:
| Pen level | Slots | Next upgrade | Price on the sign |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 5 | Level 3 (6 slots) | $100K |
| 3 | 6 | Level 4 (7 slots) | $2.5M |
| 4 | 7 | Level 5 (8 slots) | $60M |
Two things the table shows that a flat price list hides:
- Each level adds exactly one slot. Level 3 to Level 4 gives you one extra hybrid, not seven.
- The price jumps hard. Level 4 costs $2.5M and Level 5 costs $60M, which is 24× more, for the same single slot.
3. The Treadmill Upgrade Ladder (Read From the Sign)
The treadmill sign shows its XP-per-second rate as well as the price:
| Treadmill level | XP per second | Next upgrade | Price on the sign |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 34 XP/s | Level 4 | $150K |
| 4 | 60 XP/s | Level 5 (120 XP/s) | $5M |
| 5 | 120 XP/s | Level 6 (200 XP/s) | $1B |
A green "Treadmill upgraded!" banner appears after a successful purchase. Confirm it before you walk away.
4. Training Does Not Change Income
This is the most expensive misunderstanding in the game, so it is worth the evidence:
- A recorded Venusflylytrex (Golden) showed 10★ and $429/s at Lv. 1, and the same 10★ and $429/s at Lv. 506.
- The hybrid list in that recording also carried a level-tagged wildcard: training raised the level, and the star count and the $/s never moved.
So: train to fight, fuse to earn. Do not leave a hybrid on the treadmill expecting the $/s number to climb.
5. Eggs Use Space Before They Earn Anything
Eggs hatch straight into hybrids, but an incubating egg occupies a pen slot:
- Common Egg: 20 seconds, hatches 3★–5★. Its detail screen offers an Instant Hatch button.
- Epic Egg: 1 minute 30 seconds, hatches 9★–11★. That range reaches the same tier as the best standard fusions, so an Epic Egg is a real jump if your pen still holds 4★ hybrids.
Why the slot matters: an Epic Egg holds a slot for 90 seconds before it earns anything. If it replaces a $15/s hybrid, you forgo $1,350 of income during the wait. Whether that is worth it depends on what you already have in the pen, not on a fixed rule.
6. Charms
A charm attaches to a hybrid and shows as a tag on its card. Recorded charms include Ember and Arcane.
The upgrade panel's next-charm line reads:
Next: Jade Charm — x2 levels while training — $5K (a Robux button sits beside it)
So the Jade Charm is purchasable with in-game cash, and the panel states the x2 training effect itself. The screen does not state how long the effect lasts, whether it stacks, or which hybrid it must be equipped to — treat those as unconfirmed.
What Not to Assume
- Do not buy a pen level just because the sign is green. The price bar turns green when you can afford it, not when it is the best use of the cash.
- Do not skip the affordability check on Level 5. $60M for one slot is a different decision from $100K for the previous one.
- Do not treat training as an income fix. See section 4.
- Do not fill every slot before running The Wild. You need a free slot for a rescued animal or an egg.
